In June, four members of the Sophia Board and Sophia’s Director of Formation and Mission attended the Sacred Heart Schools Conference, hosted by Kincoppal-Rose Bay.
Themed Shaping Hearts and Minds, the Conference brought together RSCJ, staff, students and Board delegates from Kincoppal-Rose Bay, Baradene College in New Zealand, Stuartholme School in Brisbane, Sacré Cœur in Melbourne, and ASIANZ schools in Korea, Japan and Taiwan.
The Conference celebrated connection, mission and human rights through a series of parallel programmes for students and delegates. Students explored Everyday Human Rights, while delegates joined workshops on topics including bioethics, justice in the curriculum, cultural safety for First Nations students, respectful relationships and Sacred Heart leadership.
Other highlights included the Opening Mass, celebrated by Father Richard Leonard SJ in the KRB Chapel, the keynote address by Father Frank Brennan SJ, and the Conference Dinner.
The Conference strengthened relationships across the Sacred Heart network and affirmed a shared commitment to forming young people of compassion, courage and purpose.
